In the past i had a forerunner 235. there were icon and report training effect, but now i have a vivoactive and this monitroring ist not aviable, what is wrong or what i'm doing wrong? When I was using…. 1. battery loss is huge -- I find it worse than activities having gps/hr on. I think this is b/c of # 2. (I do not have this problem with my original vivoactive). 2. backlight comes on the whole time because of water splashing against watch face. i do not see a way of turning backlight completely off for swim (if you say "use auto lock" -- see This has just happened to me. I have tried restarting and plugging into the mains but have has no response. It is really frustrating as I have only had the watch for 5 days. Venu 3’s new V5 HR sensor is hardware-capable of ECG (if Garmin turns it on), the Vivoactive 5 is not. Venu 3 has a microphone and normal speaker for voice calls, Vivoactive 5 has beeper only. Venu 3 has a barometric altimeter for stair tracking and outside altitude/elevation, Vivoactive 5 does not. Venu 3 has three buttons, Vivoactive 5 has two. Custom workouts are no longer syncing with my watch. I have created custom running workouts and tried to send through the garmin connect app as well as through garmin express on desktop but with no success. I have raised with Garmin but posting here in case anyone else has also experienced this. I have a VA3music. This time when it broke, I didn't just give when I gave my serial number and it automatically came back with the message that my watch was "no longer in warranty" I proceeded to get in touch with customer service here in the UK via e-mail explaining that I Device is a vivoactive 3 with firmware 3.5. The Vivoactive 3 series is classed by Garmin as a "Previous Model" i.e. it's been superseded. Firmware updates to change functionality are highly unlikely to appear. To clarify, the watches have regions where a subset of the languages are supported. These are in the \GARMIN\TEXT directory and have extention .ln3. This is Garmin, why doesn’t f.ex fitbit have the same problem. When you have to tell your watch what time you go to sleep, and what time you wake up, it’s already a problem. And i know my body so well that i feel the differen on 2-6 minutes awake (2 times go pi) and theyr redicilous sometimes 2-3 hour awake. See this post. It's for the VivoActive HR but the VivoActive 3 has a similar data structure. I already updated my FRENCH.LN3 file because the French Recovery HR line after an activity was too long. Contacted support about it and a month and an update later, it was still the same, Took me a few minutes to correct the offending sentence. Click the 3 lines in the upper left->settings->app notification and verify your messages app is turned on. Mine wasn't for some reason but as soon as fixed it they came back. Cancel GHLQ.
