Choice advice: 2021 Ktm 890 vs 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 xcx vs 2021 Yamaha Tenere 7? All three are in my budget. Riding will be 80% pavement, 20% dirt roads to OHV trails. I’ve ridden the KTM 400 miles and really liked it, but I’m leery of reliability concerns. I have a Triumph now (street triple) and love it, and this Tiger is fully kitted The obvious comparison to make is to put the Aprilia Tuareg 660 against and Yamaha Ténéré 700 and the base model KTM 890 Adventure, and against those three the Aprilia hits my criteria the best. What is different: The Tenere has a wider gear spread — 3.06 compared to 2.60. Below 5,000 rpm, the Tenere has more power. Above 7,500 rpm, the Tuareg has more. Valve adjustment interval is 12,000 miles on the Tuareg vs. 26,000 for the Tenere. Tuareg has a higher compression ratio and requires premium fuel.
